Centre for Maternal and Child Health (CMCH)

Reduction of infant and maternal mortality rates have been a key local and global goal, even finding its way into the millennium development goals of the UN. This centre seeks to conduct, promote and collaborate research, education, surveillance, as well as socio-cultural projects that promote the wellbeing of mothers and infants.

The fundamental goal at this time is to build a registry that captures data on drug-related congenital malformations as well as other conditions. This registry will provide data that researchers across Cameroon and the rest of the world can use to develop protocols and interventions to address any identified trends. Other projects of the Centre include supporting vaccination and immunization campaigns, etc.
